The German Sebastian Steudtner is the new holder of the world record for the largest wave ever ridden with surfing, for a height of 26.2 meters, reached on 29 October 2020 in Nazaré, on the central coast of Portugal. The World Surf League (WSL) verified this result as a part of the Red Bull Big Wave Awards, announced this colossal achievement, and released this footage.
With his new certified GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™, the 37-year-old surfer’s performance surpasses that of the Brazilian Rodrigo Koxa, who on 8 November 2017 had caught a wave of 24.4 meters in height.
